Why California is Removing Statue of Great Explorer Christopher Co
A magnificent marble statue of Christopher Columbus and Queen Isabella will be removed from California’s Capitol Rotunda at the behest of state Democrat leaders.
Here’s what Senate President Pro Tempore Toni Atkins (D), Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D), and Assembly Rules Committee Chairman Ken Cooley (D) said in a statement:
Christopher Columbus is a deeply polarizing historical figure given the deadly impact his arrival in this hemisphere had on indigenous populations. The continued presence of this statue in California’s Capitol, where it has been since 1883, is completely out of place today.
Other statues of the great explorer are being removed across America, as leftists attempt to erase history, and in the case of Columbus, the Christian evangelistic motivation behind his voyages to the western hemisphere.
The real issue here is the hatred of Western civilization and Christianity, which it is primarily built upon.
Rioters and extremists are using recent events to justify their attempt to dismantle, destroy and discourage those whose ancestors built the greatest civilization that has ever existed on the earth since the beginning of creation.
The good news is those of the West are no longer concerned about their enemies think of them, and the push back, once it begins, is going to be fierce.
I wish it hadn’t come to this, but our enemies refuse to stop until they have their foot on our necks. Us Christians bow to no one but Jesus Christ, and obey His commands. We won’t surrender to this evil.
As for Christopher Columbus, he was looking for a way to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to all the world, and he help bring that about, as evidenced by the powerful and holy Christian influence on what was once the American nation, but is now a smattering of nations within the geographic boundaries of the United States.
