Couple Living on a Sailboat & Running a Small Business While Off the Grid + Catamaran Tour
Alejo and Andrea started exploring alternative lifestyles when they quit their jobs in Miami and started travelling in a travel trailer, but after falling in love with kite boarding, they realized that life on the water would be a better fit, and they moved onto a catamaran sailboat so they could chase the wind every day!
For work, they own a pet supply company called Mokai, which they are able to operate remotely, and they also have a YouTube channel where they share videos about their daily lives.

And you can find out more about their pet supply company, Mokai, here:
The couple travels with their two Akita dogs, Ozzy and Echo, who get to spend time running around the beach and swimming in the ocean every single day! They have a patch of artificial grass on the boat that they use if they have to go to the bathroom between trips to shore. Echo went blind shortly before moving onto the boat but she has adjusted really well and knows her way around the boat!
The catamaran has a large salon and galley, four cabins, and four heads (two on each side), and a large sitting area outside. They also have a laundry machine, air conditioning, and a dish washer, and loads of fridge, freezer, and food storage space so they can do large provisioning runs and spend more time in remote places.
A huge thank you to Andrea & Alejo for filming the footage for this video, and another huge thanks to YOU for watching 🙂
Happy Exploring!

What an amazing way to live! This is the dream right here!!!
Really gorgeous Cat.
Thank you for watching guys! We’re really glad to hear that you enjoyed the video
Living Hakuna 😁 very cool
With Starlink wifi everywhere, this will become more common I think, great inspiring video.⛵
@Living Hakuna Starlink is Elon Musk’s upcoming global satellite internet that is meant for people living off grid who don’t have traditional internet access. The first beta testing has started in North america.
@Living Hakuna Starlink is the new internet by SpaceX, it’s not available yet, but would be out soon, at least for Americas.
ITS
NOT
WI
FI
@Living Hakuna he is talking about one more new satellite internet operator with thousands low-orbit satellites. One stupid journalist called that “wifi” and now millions people who have no idea what is satellite wire are calling that “starlink wifi”
@MegaSukiran Starlink does not have geostationary satellites for customer using. It means that their group will be working everywhere and we would be able to use low energy/not focused antennas for receiving/transmitting

Weapon and defend you never show us, just dont go or avoid unsafe water region. Pirate are too scary.
Why are they yelling?
Daniëlle: c’est le ton quit fait la chanson.
I’ve seldom heard a voice so sharp and displeasing. Would an aftermarket microphone perhaps help?
Where do the dogs use the bathroom?
@Reinier Mayer I must agree…my wife made me turn the volume way down😆
WHY IS SHE SHOUTING ALL THE TIME??
hahah! I was the one speaking and I even thought I was extremely loud. I think I was exited and nervous recording the video for you guys… But I am definitely a lot louder than Alejo.
@Living Hakuna Very good answer 😉
Hehe
@Living Hakuna Enthousiams there.
Wow!! Thank you guys so much for this incredible video, you’re true experts at show casing someone else’s journey. It really gave us goose bumps to watch our story from your point of view 💙
Wow it’s massive inside compared to how big the boat looks 👍🏴👍
It definitely is!! It’s a little condo on the water, it’s not extremely fast sailing but comfort was our priority. Glad you enjoyed the video and we hope to see you on our channel 🙂
This seem really amazing but challenging too
If you explore life in this way
Only thing I say is to wish you all the best and enjoy life
It definitely is Sam! We’re glad you enjoyed watching 🙂
Next I want to see a couple living on an island in the middle of nowhere.
This channel did feature a couple who kinda built an island, a “floating house” as they call it 🤣 Here’s the link
https://youtu.be/F-71kVK5HcA
I can’t wait for tittles like “couple living on Mars, off the grid”, ” tiny living on the moon “
You can do that!
On a well equipped boat with redundant systems and a handy man (or woman).
Yes, so solar, wind and even hydro power generation … one or two water desalinators and protection in the anchorage – or you are out of the typhoon/hurricane zone.
The boat interior is incredible it’s like a little cottage litterally. You guys are definitely adventurous. The insecure side of this kind of living is not for everyone for sure…not me at least. But thank you for the honest feedback about the pro and cons.
Hey Yushi! Thanks for watching and we’re glad that you enjoyed the video. We can definitely agree that this lifestyle is not for everyone but it has some pretty adventurous moments. We hope to see you on our channel 🙂
The space on this boat is incredible!
Hey guys we are big fans of your channel! Yes, the boat is pretty big inside hopefully once this coronavirus passes it would be great to meet you guys in person. 🤙🏻
hi Elsa&Barron
Thanks for watching <3 <3
Exactly I was thinking the samething!
Thats beautiful. I love seeing these interviews we’re people are living and not just exciting 👍🏼💯
Thanks Nyla! We’re really glad to hear that you enjoyed the video and we hope to see you on our channel 🙂
Thank you Andrea for yelling at me about your boat! It’s beautiful 😉
hahah Sorry E-Mac! I was trying to keep the excitement under control but it seems like I totally failed at calculating how loud I would come out on the video
@Living Hakuna you can tell it was being of excitement tho so it’s cute.
What a dream…
Whomever in this relationship convinced the other to dive into this lifestyle
You are lucky!
Thanks for sharing
Maybe it was a joint decision!
I have been following them pretty much from the beginning of their journey in the RV. It was an immediate joint decision because of their love for kiteboarding.
Hi Jeffrey, yes it was not easy to convince Andrea but showing her other youtube channels and the lifestyle on a boat I manage to get her onboard
You must be a real good couple. Living so long away from taking a walk to cool down or think. That is real love
hahah it happens! When we fight, we just have to jump in the water to cool down for a few minutes.
Anyone else watch these videos fantasizing about getting away from this pandemic (and people)?
Every…..damn…..day…..!!!!!
Exactly
It’s a tough life out here but I wouldn’t trade it for anything! S.V. Voodoo
@Living Hakuna I love living aboard. S.V. Voodoo
@Joe Smith i feel you
There’s more than enough room for children here, I was surprised about the room. Must be an expensive boat though.
Respect for taking the dogs off the boat twice a day, I live on the 5th floor with no balcony or yard so I also have to take my pup out multiple times a day so I know what that’s like and appreciate people who give their dogs great lives even when it’s a small pain in the tush. The boat is absolutely wonderful as well, very open and airy but the pups were definitely the highlight for me lol. So amazing at how well the blind pup adapted to the boat. Thanks for sharing :):)
This dude has internet in the middle of the ocean and I can’t even get internet in my room.
The blind dog on the boat is the biggest lux they have and proof of how much well they live
Ngl I feel kinda bad for those dogs, not their environment
“Everyday something is broken on the boat…” Yeah, this is accurate.
