Will this SAWMILL make the CUT? Log to Lumber COMPLETE video
Doug and Stacy live on 11 acres in a log cabin. They live the Pioneer life in the 21st century and have a sawmill to make dimensional lumber for their homestead BUT this Red Oak might be TO BIG for the Hud-son Warrior sawmill so we have just the fix!

About OFF GRID with DOUG and Stacy
In 2010 we decided to sell everything and build a log cabin on 11 acres. We have lived in the log cabin for a decade now with no solar power or wind power plus zero public utilities. We live like the pioneers except in the 21st century. We post videos on social media to encourage people to return to the land and make a living with your family. We teach folks:
*Off grid living *Rain water catchment *Cooking with wood
*Food growing *Cooking from scratch *Raised bed gardening
*Food harvesting *fermenting the harvest *food preservation
*Holistic Remedies like Grandma made *How to make money and live this life
*storing food in a root cellar *DIY Build projects

THIS IS NOT AN AFFILIATE LINK but it does save you money lol =) THANKS FOR WATCHING!
You should give away a small Hudson mill.
I live in upstate New York and that’s right. We want nothing to do with the city
🤣👍
Having done quite a lots of business in New York state, and the city, I can attest to the fact that there are New Yorkers, and there are New York Cityers. Love the New Yorkers. Hate the City. Bunch of rats disguised as people.
Definitely 2 different worlds..lol
In Maine we say “Oaks No Joke” !
Doug, If I had that machine I would be making nice table tops for coffee tables….They would be beautiful….! I will buy one off you if you start making them.
You are right that endpiece is a beauty for a coffee table!
Thank you mighty oak tree for all the years that you have given and for all the giving to come
🙏
Trees are the best!
I can’t wait to live in the forest again!
And look at all that saw dust for your toilet, sounds like a win win situation
Very cool to watch! Everytime you started backing up the loader Gunner (our yellow lab) thought it was hubby’s work truck getting home & started barking even though he was looking right at him🤣
Hey I live in upstate New York and many of us consider it a little insulting when people assume New York City because we are from New York state
Some of those tables have a place where you can level the table with screws on the bottom. Hey Doug, you beat that guy like a rented Mule………lol ! Nice Job !
https://youtu.be/sbP7aONBHCY Check out this video from the Morgans with his saw mill.
Haven’t read through all the comments, but whenever you park that skid steer place the tips of the fork blades down to avoid ankle and leg injuries! Ouch!!
For sure and never up in the air because they’ll knock you out. Takes one metal whack on your ankle and you’ll be jumping around like a jumping bean and oh the pain! Don’t ask me how I know! 😊
@C P No till Sounds like a reese hitch to the knee
@Take America Back From Isяael I can feel it now! 😅
Hi Doug, have you worked out a running expense/profit list for the wood business so far? Was curious what the break even point will be so far, between the John Deere, larger mill, cement pad, new saw, maybe part/all of the truck cost?
Would it be worth it to get something to turn the sawdust into pellets for pellets stoves? Is the Slabber always/mostly a 2-man job?
Its that screach while woods being cut makes me uneasy.
In South Australia where i grew up, we burnt sheoak. Use to light the fire in the morning and run outside to smell it burn. Redgum in Victoria doesnt smell as good but both give lots of heat when burnt.
Stacey, i can see table tops with a beautiful light to dark brown varnish on coming up. The patterns will be awesome.
that was just to much work . i was feeling that and i wasn’t even doing any of it . I’m so glad i got a hydraulic mill
Nice job you guys for sure. OAK IS NO JOKE. That was good one…
Doug, it looks like you should employ a partime helper for these projects. I bet the local Amish teens would like a job!
U got lucky having one of the main guys from Hudson come to ur farm Thts cool
He smokes…bummer
On a different note, it would be amazing if you could save a scrap slab for a shelf like Stacy has above her sink…I am finally getting a tiny home, its 8′ x 10’…I am happy to be inside before snow falls…But it sure would be amazing knowing it was part of the tree that made your schoolhouse…I plan to be at the next gathering in Hannibal…Maybe you could bring me a little or I can come visit…
You keep in touch and I will hook you up in August
I just did not think I’d find this interesting. Enthralled.
