The Tool every Homesteader needs! Off Grid | Homesteading
If you want to HOMESTEAD you will need this tool! We are taking down a pasture so we can expand the wood lot. Removing the pasture fence is first on the list. This tool will make short work of removing T posts

About OFF GRID with DOUG and Stacy
In 2010 we decided to sell everything and build a log cabin on 11 acres. We have lived in the log cabin for a decade now with no solar power or wind power plus zero public utilities. We live like the pioneers except in the 21st century. We post videos on social media to encourage people to return to the land and make a living with your family. We teach folks:
*Off grid living *Rain water catchment *Cooking with wood
*Food growing *Cooking from scratch *Raised bed gardening
*Food harvesting *fermenting the harvest *food preservation
*Holistic Remedies like Grandma made *How to make money and live this life
*storing food in a root cellar *DIY Build projects
*Animal Husbandry *Raising Chickens, Guinea, Turkeys and Ducks
All of our videos are made to empower you to break free and LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE!
Bought a farm jack about three years ago….. 100’s of uses!!!
Minnesota here. We had ice on car windows yesterday. Cost of living here is terrible, very high. Worked my whole life and they tax pensions here. Not right!
Richard Holmes never vote democrat 👎🏽
Sandi Schraut Hi Sandi, also Minnesota here. Taxes are high, but we live in a beautiful area. There are trade offs.
Greg Fangel agree about the beauty here well except winter I could do with less of that.
Hey Sandi. I’m a MN, too. R u homesteading? If so, about where? Thx. Mary
M Peters I live in town Crystal MN have a large garden, only animals are dogs and cats. So I am not sure what homesteading requirements are? But working to be as self sufficient as possible.
I’m working 4 jobs to put money aside to move my daughter and I out of California!
Thank you and Stacey for your wisdom! 🙏🏻🤟🏻
Best of luck to y’all. California is on a downhill slide for sure. 🇺🇸
Bless you, best wishes for your family.
I hope it works out for you and you get out of there soon! Best wishes.
Lisa good luck! I hope you and your daughter are safe and can find something soon.
Good job, Lisa!
i love my post puller… pulled a couple thousand posts around my property
TOOLBELTS🤣. Set up different belts for different things. When shop built, Mark the spot. Then when you see a empty spot instead of..what was there…you can look at the label and think …oh yeah, I left that…. just an idea from an elder ❤️🙏
El Johnson you can even set up different buckets for different projects, if your not a tool belt person!
El Johnson I loved my tool belt when I was out inspecting my flock of sheep. Everything needed to cope with any problems.
Farm Jack and a piece of chain has more uses than a special T post puller.
Not as fast or convenient though.
I have taken down a 1/2 mile of fence with the post puller, works on T posts and wood posts. Much easier to use and carry than a jack.
Jason Busch you know what’s even better, both!
Just bolt a piece of chain with a hook on it to your jack. Wrap it around the post a couple times and pull it. Not much time difference. 1 tool keeps your garage cleaner. Less stuff that you use once every 5 years.
@Doug Cooper Cracked me up when he said, “Even Stacy could do it.”
I’m in Texas, I’m blessed to live in a very small town. I’ve never been to California. I very rarely even go to town. Our closet town is 15 miles and it’s only like maybe 2000 people. Which is fine with me. Love the country life!!!
@Lisa B parts are beautiful. It’s mainly the parts that are on fire. Sequoia Kings national forrest is beautiful as is Yosemite. But again on fire.
@Seeking Knowledge ❤️I’m in East Texas in the piney woods
My husband has a cousin in Modesto CA..
Darlene they’re not to far from me!
Nothing great about The Peoples Republic of California. You are better off were your are. I love the water so it is hard to move to an land lock state, Of course Texas is not land locked. It’s High Humidity is a problem for me.
Congratulations on your heirloom seeds! 😂😂 Praying for a quick delivery and for Mama and her littles. May the Lord watch over and bless you all. Thank you for always sharing such useful information.
Congratulations on the grand babies! Thats some heirlooms Allright. We have had dryer weather down in Southern Missouri. We could use some good rain. Good tips as always Doug. Blessings y’all
Feeding livestock in the trailer with the intent to close it in the future: WalMart for the past 30 years.
Ouch…true.
lol
Congratulations on the twin grand girls!!! I’m one of those freaks of nature, an identical twin. We love everything you share!
You freak ❤🤣
OFF GRID with DOUG & STACY 🤪
FYI: That red tool uses “Leveraging”.
Not “Centrifugal” Force. A washing machine uses Centrifugal force on the rinse cycle, to throw the clothes and water out against the drum where the water passes through the holes to remove most of the water from the clothes.
The red tool looks like it uses something near a 8 to 1 ratio to compound the force at the other end. Thus Leveraging the power of your hand at the other end.
Thanks for great videos.
It’s called a fulcrum, i guess you could call it a leveraging tool. AKA farmers jack
actually, that would be the spin cycle…
As long as were nit pickin
Came here to learn about farming and homesteading and end up with a bonus science lesson 😄
Smart Butt Who Cares WE Knew what Mr. Doug Ment, What He Said Some of you People are just _ Thank you Mr. Doug for a GOOD VIDEO
My husband always left his tools, where ever he last used them, and when he could not find them when he needed them again, he would blame the kids of not putting the tools back. After the kids where all grown and gone, he would blame the dog. LOL I must say all the kids put their tools back to where they are suppose to go.
Yea, they were tired of being yelled at so they learned 🤣🤣
That sounds like something I would do haha.
That’s what I do.
I’m getting one of those pullers for my birthday in a couple of weeks. When they asked and I told them what I wanted they said “what?”
Hey Doug & Stacy, My wife and I sold our house, Cars and motorcycle & bought a 2016 Kenworth T680 with a 13spd and we are Long distance Truck Drivers who now Live In our Truck full time to save ALOT of money in a short amount of time (Dave Ramsay Style) its been 4 years so far and we just purchased 22 acres with some water features that are awesome! Living a small life is everything when it comes to obtaining your goal “Quickly” we have learned so much from you guys, thank you Guys so much we never miss episode!
Very nice..!!!!
LOL! I picked up my iPhone to write a comment that, “Yes, I’m challenged with keeping up with my tools,” and found the tongs I just spent 5 minutes looking all over the kitchen to find. 😂😂. You are NOT ALONE, Doug!
13:08 I’m in the “some of them like it” group lol cause it’s real and hilarious, it’s like have a bunch of nosey ans noisy toddlers around lol
The same advice would apply in the UK. I left an overly political city famous for throwing a statue of Edward Colston into the harbour. Looney leftie woke city. Over priced and overrated. I sold a small 2 bedroom bungalow with only one living room come kitchen that you couldn’t swing a cat in, for £240,000. Council tax was expensive, local woke shops and cafes were outrageous. I bought a cottage with land, paid off the mortgage and had money left over moving away from the city. Not regretted it at all.
Warrior 5D good for you!! “Swing a cat in” 😂😂😂
Great stuff Doug. I was just thinking about not missing a video….that one you did about getting a baby lamb to drink. At the time that you put that video out, I had never had anything to do with sheep or the like. Anyhow 7 days ago I ended up with an abandoned newborn lamb. And…..guess what? I knew what to do. She is thriving on the bottle by the way……how did I know what to do when I had never even touched a sheep? YOUR VIDEOS. Ps we have a pony called Nugget.
Who would have thought that your videos saved the life of a lamb in Australia??? Pretty cool eh?
I remember, such life experiences are learned here.
❤ Doug & Stacy ❤
“Hardware disease” has killed a lot of animals… glad you stressed to pick up all loose bits of metal
