I have the LCR 38, great revolver. More comfortable to shoot vs. Airweight.
Fun for the range, cost effective but I rather the .357/.38 version.
@SeaBasstian1 Reading is fundamental. You may want to re-read my comment and try again. Let me help you:
“You would practice with .38spl, *fire a cylinder a year of .357mag* and carry the .357mag rounds for when it counts.
@Papi Maximus a cylinder a year is meaningless and nobody with 2 braincells to rub together would consider that sufficient.
@SeaBasstian1 Everybody with any real experience knows the ammo type does not matter that much. You would be perfectly fine shooting .38spl 90% of the time and .357mag as a treat just so you understand what to expect. Remember, the recoil is AFTER the shot. How much of your premium defensive ammo do you shoot each year – be honest?
Bryan Adams just be glad she has the option better and built stronger than the 38 version
Hot 357 magnum is nasty, but standard loads I can shoot one handed. But I personally prefer 38+p
I have experience with one of these. Buyer beware of the crimp jumping issue. I experienced it several times with different ammo.
Excelente arma para backup..👍🇧🇷
I was hoping for a good review on this firearm. Yall knocked it out the park.
Did you use a heavier ammo? 115 is a lighter round. I want to get my hands on this firearm Thanks for sharing 🇺🇸
https://www.activeresponsetraining.net/ammunition-choices-for-9mm-revolvers if this is accurate lighter weight jhp would be advised due to the barrel length.
Very happy with my Ruger SP101 357/38 & my Charter Arms 9mm Pit bull(no moon clips necessary)
I have a charter arms. My wife didn’t want it so it’s mine now
I hate moon clips.
0:18 uh, that’s a S&W you got there Sootch. 😸 Is that your 442?
very cute revolver
but I like enclosed hammer version more
So do i.
or concealed hammer,
Buy extra moon clips… if you lose them… and over time they may discontinue making them. It is like a semi-auto… buy extra magazines.
nah speedloader strip or 9mm mag to use as a speed loader and i printed a tool to simultaneously poke all the empties out, then feed strip or thumb in from mag fresh rounds… fires just fine w.out moonclips, the rounds headspace ok
@J Xxx good to know!
True Story! 20 clips is a good start. I load them up and slide them down a couple of PVC pipes.
Medicine pill bottles work for me, it keeps my clips from bending
@Big HOMIE i found that speedbeez makes a better carry moonclip (no slits so firmer), id practice w ruger moonclips but carry tk custom or speedbeez.. also ruger makes a moonclip holder that can be worn on your belt for quicker access, also uses compression so it is open top and at the ready
Wow! 1 million plus subs! Congrats sootch! Love the Sleepy Joe moments at the end.
Don,
Great revirw as usual.
I’ve been wanting one of these 4 a long time. Hard 2 find these days, but I’ll keep looking.
Thx,
Best Regards

Great review bub, this revolver is very interesting to me. I would be very interested in purchasing one in the near future.stay safe and God bless 🇺🇸☠️🇺🇸!!
After several years I traded my J-frame 38 spec for something with more capacity and more pleasant to shoot.
It was a great little gun for carry but the recoil was excessive for range shooting.
What did you end up getting?
@Benjamin Trahan M&P9C 2.0…I love it
I have the LCR in 327 Federal Magnum. It can shot 32 Short, 32 S&W Long, 32 H&R Magnum, and 327 Federal Magnum. I haven’t had an issue getting ammo for it. When everyone is searching for 9mm, sometimes it’s worth getting something different. In one word it’s FUN to shoot this revolver. And who doesn’t like having a .32 in his pocket for fun like Bad Bad Leroy Brown.
And it holds 6 rounds!
How much did you get it for?
@BBQ Ninja About 600 dollars including sales tax.
Awesome review, love the 22 wmr hidden hammer version.
Your left thumbnail indicates poor carpentry skills and timing….I recommend a dazzling nail finish!
Pretty sure this is Claire’s starting revolver in RE2
Kind of seems like the moon clips should come in brighter colors so they aren’t so easy to lose.
Paint them
If someone is killed with a 9mm, no one looks for a revolver.
Shoot brass from a semi then reload them Ha there! One upped
@Andrew Wong to reload the shell you first put it in a tumbler and that will erase the marks………ALL UPPED
Well now they’re gonna be looking for you guys 😂😂
@Richard E. Actually you’re wrong. He’s right. You could reload after firing through a semi auto because ejector mark’s actually cut into the brass cases leaving distinctive marks, they do not wash off. Also, tumble cleaning your cases is not needed, it helps for a multitude of reasons to clean your brass, but it is not necessary. As a reloader I’m very well educated on firearms and ammo.
California has background check just to buy ammo
I’ve been interested in the LCR since they started making it in 9mm. Wondering how the recoil compares to 38 special. I fired the .357 version when it came out and I remember it nearly broke my wrist.
