If We Really Know God We’ll Keep His Commandments

1 John 2:3-4

3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Psalm 111:10

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Do you have knowledge of God or just speak from what you’ve read. As knowledge comes from experience from doing God’s commands and knowing all that entails.

Those who follow the ways of the devil, have not the truth in them, because unrighteousness is not of God.

Until you’ve walked in the ways God commands, what knowledge could you have about them? None at all. Yet many seem to have a lot to say about what God does, without the truth within them.

Many are the false prophets, who speak what they don’t know, in order to gain an ear. What purpose does a liar serve God? We’re not commanded to try a spirit for no reason.

1 John 4:1

4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

There are many in the body of Christ working on leading others astray, without knowing it. What happens to a soul that believes a lie and lives in accordance with it? Do you believe that soul has a chance?

There are many speaking from untruths and many are following after them. Teaching the same unrighteousness to others.

2 Timothy 3:13

But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

If you don’t know the truth about God, why wouldn’t you be able to to be deceived by a lie. Most just want to hear something that sounds good. Especially if it satisfies the lusts and affections of the flesh.

More follow their beliefs, than seek the truth. That’s because truth casts down all the lies and imaginations.

Many want to believe God has a plan for them. As if His commandments were different from person to person.

Romans 2:11

11 For there is no respect of persons with God.

God doesn’t speak to anyone differently or do the works of the Spirit, change in how they are manifested. That’s because God’s ways don’t change

Malachi 3:6

6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Revelation comes from the knowledge of God. Not from what is not known in truth. One has to grow spiritually, in order for revelation to take place. God’s ways are pieces to the mystery. The more knowledge one has, the more about God is revealed.

1 Corinthians 2:9-10

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

The ways of God are His Spirit. As all that is of God, is of His Spirit. The problem most have is that they believe they are of God, without knowing the truth in what “of God” means.

So many make false claims, without the truth being in them. Who are they going to deceive, but those who are not of God. Pay attention to what scripture says.

2 Timothy 3:13

But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Why would anyone living a lie, not know it wouldn’t be seen by those who know the truth? That’s because they are either the non-believers of what scripture says or don’t abide in the word to see the warnings.

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Scripture isn’t saying it might happen, it’s saying it will come to pass. One can be in denial all they want, but it won’t change a thing and one’s fruits will prove it.

Titus 1:16

16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

Matthew 7:18-20

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

God knows how to expose a liar and why we are commanded to try the spirit by the spirit.

Proverbs 13:5

5 A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.

Psalms 106:3

Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.

1 John 4:1

4 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Those who have matured in the knowledge of God’s ways, are skilled in the word of righteousness. They know the difference between good and evil. That’s why the false prophet is able to “get over” on those who have no knowledge of God.

Hebrews 5:13-14

13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

There’s a lot of work that goes into living as God commands. Nobody who does the work, is going to let a liar shine without trying his spirit.

It’s the Spirit that convicts the devil at work within, but that’s why vessels of righteousness carry out the will of God.

Isaiah 55:11

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Hebrews 4:12

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Are you speaking from knowledge of the truth or just telling lies you believe? It’s only a matter of time before you are confronted.
