2 Years Living in a Renovated RV Converted to TINY HOUSE ON WHEELS
To escape big bills and loads of stress, Chris and Christi downsized from a home in North Hollywood to a 26-foot RV and they've been living in it full-time for 2 years with no plans to stop anytime soon. Full-time RV life gives them the freedom to work on creative projects like music, writing and acting because they don't have to earn as much as they used to. And being on wheels means they can still be near friends and work opportunities in LA without having to live there full-time.

Their RV is perfect for their minimalist digital nomad lifestyle. They have a loft bed over the cab with plenty of head room, windows, and a privacy curtain. The dinette is a comfortable place to eat and lounge, and they replaced the original couch with a mobile home office (with a monitor lift!) where they have an entire music and video editing studio setup. The kitchen is l-shaped with lots of pantry storage, a large sink, 3-burner cook top and a microwave. The bathroom has a full shower with a mini bathtub, and they added peel and stick tile that's lightweight and easy to install to brighten up the space.
If we hadn't already spent so much time and effort building our van, we'd seriously consider finding an RV with this layout because it's the perfect home on wheels. Just need a portable washing machine and you really do have everything you need!

I saw very great ideas here. Its awesome. Hope they install solar panels, too 😃
I’m going to do this – you’ve inspired me 🙂
Awww, that’s so amazing!
Jez I AM
Everyone says that. No one actually does it.
love what they did with the interior, bright with clean lines. the large bathroom and corner kitchen are great features.
Thank you so much!
I love the RV conversion and it’s awesome that they figured out a way to keep working while they travel! Thanks for sharing 👍😁
Thank you so much!
The inside looked huge. Just the perfect size for living and driving.
We couldn’t believe how much the white paint and the light flooring opened it up! It felt so much smaller, before. .
Amazing the space they have in their RV. It has so much storage, and the layout looked very practical for everyday living. I lived on a 42′ sailboat for two years, and saw people living comfortably on much smaller boats. RVs, vans, schoolies, all remind me of boat living, and how if a vessel is made with excellent use of space and has all you need… that’s all you need. Space is relative. Freedom is priceless.
We couldn’t agree more! We loved that realization of the happiness you get from just having what you need. It brings so much peace to life.
Wtf this has been my life goal since I watched Ben10 for the first time~😂
Wow now this is living…..people are so focused on material things they miss what living really is !!!
So true! It feels so good to let go of that need for “things”.
This is one of the nicest RV renovations I’ve ever seen 😍
Thank you so much!
I love seeing actual rvs and travel trailer renovations. I feel like it’s more affordable and achievable for most Americans compared to the sprinter vans
Way more affordable!
Plus I like that they stay at campgrounds because I’m not interested in stealth camping as a solo female.
The RV looks beautiful inside! Small ones like that often have the shower over the toilet and everything gets wet, yuck. Their bathroom looks really nice and functional with the separate shower. The kitchen is great! I haven’t seen one in the back like that, but it looks like they have a good amount of storage and definitely like the larger fridge and that they have an oven. The computer area is impressive! I’ve never seen a curved monitor like that. It’s a shame they lost the sofa, but someone else mentioned they may be able to convert the dining table / banquette into a sofa. That would be nice as you can’t really lounge on the bed. Love the white paint and the peel and stick tiles. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so, so much! Yes, we are SO happy with the layout. Haven’t converted the dinette into a lounge area yet because the dinette is pretty comfy. Still need to try it!
1:32 MATTRESS… infused with charcoal and green tea, brilliant!
Can you please tell us the name and where you got it?
Great RV, thanks for sharing!
@Scifi FantasyGirl That’s the brand! Good eye :).
@Kreative Freedom We bought the 4 inch green tea ones for our tent trailer and hope to buy a new mattress as our main bed from them as well. Great company! 🙂
@Kreative Freedom good to see you in the comments
@Slappy K Charcoal is not a chemical. It is mostly pure carbon that comes from burning organic substances such as wood. Activated charcoal is inert and absorbs toxins. Because of its absorption properties it is used as an anti-poison and in air filters to trap harmful vapors.
Science, yo! 😁
@Slappy K organic chemical duh
Great motorhome! Travel washing machine = 5 gallon bucket and toilet plunger reserved for laundry use. A bucket like that has multiple if unpredictable uses. Grey water is easy to dispose of.
We need to do that! We’ve seen some good little systems online too, but that would do the trick!
For the same reasons I bought mine two years ago it’s a little bit older a 2005 30 foot and I have lived in a full-time ever since and I haven’t paid rent for two years it’s been awesome living the dream is a reality when you have an RV
So much less stress and so simple! We love it, too.
Very nice. That’s the 1st time I ever saw the kitchen in the back like that. usually There is a bedroom.
That’s what we loved. It gives us so much extra space for the bed to be in the loft.
What year, make and model is your RV?
@bobbiratley It’s a 26 foot 2004 Fleetwood Jamboree Class C
Can I ask how much you paid for this RV?
@bobbiratley Sure! We got this one for $31,000.
I love the layout of this RV! One of the best I’ve seen.
Yes, it sold us right away!
Wow, beautifully done. I love how you made the transformation with smart manageable changes as opposed to gutting the interior. That said, I’m sure this was a lot of work.
Thanks so much! Yes, it was a lot of work, But as you said, way less than if we made bigger changes!
That is a seriously nice RV! I can’t believe how lucky they got with that bathroom and their hot water situation! What a score!
Thanks so much, Gen!
I love that the kitchen is not the first thing you will see when you enter the space. Good luck guys! Enjoy life! I am dreaming of doing this someday. God bless!
Thank you so much! We also love the corner kitchen. We hope you do it!
I see that you painted much of your wood work white which looks amazing ! The beige wall color is that the original or did you paint that and stencil too ?
Thank you so much! Actually, that was the original wallpaper that we planned on covering with something else, but once we painted it white, it looked great how it was.
